I explore landscape, boats and architecture. I paint the spirit of a place once visited; a visual journal of memory. A walk down a city street, or alongside the water’s edge, elicits a unique experience, with a particular sense of light, feeling and texture - the topsy-turvy energy, the quiet early hours, the tapestry of colors and moods of living in the city or the serenity of skiffs lazily floating in still waters. My paintings examine aspects of subjects encountered in daily life.

I interpret the landscape and architecture in a personal manner. My houses are reduced to simplified forms, visual icons, that captures the essence of "home." Some houses are playful, and others tumble upon smaller homes to suggest the ever-changing city environment.

My boats represent mobility, adventure and opportunity - a vessel to be used to discover new lands.

I combine earth tones and pastel colors to create intimate portraits of everyday life. My palette is inspired by time spent in New Mexico and in the Pacific Northwest.
